SUMA móvil to launch its VoLTE service on JSC Ingenium technology

JSC Ingenium - News: Client update - SUMA móvil Colombia
  • SUMA móvil bets on VoLTE/IMS to modernise its technological platform offer for MVNOs.
  • The company anticipates the imminent switch-off of legacy networks – 2G and 3G – and thus becomes the first platform for MVNOs to offer its partner brands voice over LTE.
The decision by the transnational SUMA móvil, a subsidiary of Grupo Ingenium, responds to a two-fold strategy: on the one hand, to improve call quality, and on the other, to be prepared for the arrival of 5G and, in parallel, to face the much-announced switch-off of legacy 2G networks by mobile network operators.

According to Juan Carlos Buitrago, SUMA‘s Country Manager in Colombia, “the incorporation of VoLTE will allow all partner brands to offer an integrated voice service regardless of 3G, 4G or 5G access technology, significantly improving the user experience with 10 times faster connection times, more stable and better-quality HD voice calls, even in environments with a lot of interference, as well as lower battery consumption”.

SUMA móvil chose the technology of the parent group, led by JSC Ingenium, for the deployment of its Core IMS, mainly because of its strong commitment to containerised cloud technologies and the rapid experience it has gained worldwide, which will allow, in a first phase, to offer VoLTE services, and in the near future, to be ready to also offer VoWiFi -Voice over Wifi- and VoNR – Voice Over New Radio- services, or in other words, native calls in 5G. This solution will go a step further and further improve the user experience for end subscribers, who will be able to start a call in VoLTE and continue it over a WiFi network in an area without mobile coverage, in VoWiFi, and vice versa, without affecting the call quality, without interruptions or interference.

The solution deployed by JSC Ingenium is also designed to allow SUMA to prioritise voice traffic over the rest of the services through its QCI (Quality of Service Class Identifier) system. The QCI is designed to guarantee the Quality of Service, thanks to the possibility of distributing the types of traffic (live streaming, video, data, voice, etc.) on a scale of values to which priority is given. VoLTE traffic has a QCI equal to 1, which is the highest possible, so it has absolute priority.
About SUMA móvil

SUMA offers service in Colombia as a mobile services platform for Mobile Virtual Network Operators, helping and advising those companies that want to launch their own mobile telephony service with their own brand. The company started operations in Spain in 2010. It is currently present in Colombia, Chile and Peru, where it has more than 40 allied, deployed and operational brands, and is preparing its next commercial launch in Portugal in 2023.

SUMA móvil is a subsidiary of Grupo Ingenium Tecnología, a telecommunications holding company based in Spain. It has more than 25 years of experience leading technology innovation for Mobile Operators worldwide.

Wireless Logic: optimizing the Internet of Things business

JSC Ingenium - News: Client update - Wireless logic
  • Wireless Logic chooses JSC Ingenium to deploy its new M2M/IoT platform that will allow it to manage IMSI agreements reached with leading international roaming operators.
  • These agreements allow Wireless Logic to offer its customers the best value-for-money M2M/IoT service on the market.
The British operator Wireless Logic, a pioneer in IoT communications since 2000, currently operates more than 6 million M2M connections. Headquartered in South-East England with offices spread across Europe and China, Wireless Logic works to build the first mobile network designed in the IoT.

In 2020, Wireless Logic selected JSC Ingenium technology to deploy its own M2M/IoT platform for managing service operations in all countries where it currently operates -United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Holland, Austria, the USA and China- as well as new markets in the future.

A key feature of Wireless Logic’s service is its ability to bring together multiple IMSIs both of its own and various MNO partners enabling it to dynamically select the best available network at all time and thus manage communications in each location globally. This selection is based on price and quality criteria, offering end customers the best possible communication anywhere in the world.

JSC Ingenium‘s platform provides a full range of capabilities -multi-IMSI, pattern-based location management, roaming user profiles, input interface-based flow discrimination- enabling complete control over roaming services. The system allows users to create, manage and assign profiles to subscribers that will determine the services they will receive on the different authorized networks, depending on the roaming partner managing connectivity to these networks. In this way, a simple business order can trigger the authorization or non-authorization of the use of a certain coverage footprint, or a certain roaming partner, or even specific network services for given networks controlled by certain partners.

The new Platform deployed is a Full Core OSS/BSS solution, developed entirely in-house by JSC Ingenium taking into account all the roaming management capabilities of the network elements. One clear example are rate services, capable of determining the appropriate rate for a given service based on specific criteria, namely location, subscriber profile and roaming partner through which the service is provided.
The entire platform has been designed to, on the one hand, facilitate the deployment and centralized operation of the service and, on the other, enable quick and cost-effective management of the different M2M communication needs of both companies and device manufacturers and integrators, offering a high level of customization based on the specific needs of each vertical. The deployed solution has the following nodes/functions: STP, DSC, HLR/HSS, SMS-C (e.g. IP-SM-GW), CAMEL SCF, G-MSC, USSD-GW, P-GW, Proxy, OCS, PCRF, and OTA platform, together with a provisioning gateway.
Although VoLTE technology is not included in the initial rollout, JSC Ingenium has offered this advantage to Wireless Logic and an agreement has been reached to add this later, as appropriate.
About Wireless Logic – IoT connectivity for any device, anywhere

A new thing, device or asset is connected to Wireless Logic’s cellular platform every 18 seconds of every day. And today, Wireless Logic Group has over 6 million IoT SIM subscriptions active in 165 countries, with collaborative partnerships that provide reach into more than 750 global networks.

The group is entirely customer and market-driven, meeting customers where they are to help them innovate by providing expert service and the most flexible, resilient and secure connectivity solutions in the market.

Wireless Logic’s purpose-built IoT connectivity platforms connect (globally and locally) across multiple mobile networks and technologies to give customers a single management window for their assets. It provides the ultimate connectivity, control and security.

Wireless Logic Group is backed by Montagu Private Equity, one of the world’s leading private equity-backed investors, giving Wireless Logic Group unrivalled financial strength.

Airmob commits to Full MVNO to provide companies with the most comprehensive and professional communication services on the market

JSC Ingenium - News: Client update - Airmob
  • Airmob trusts JSC Ingenium’s technology and service to make the switch to Full MVNO and offer 5G mobile telecommunications service.
  • Its mobile strategy in the short term also involves strengthening its multi-operator offering and providing a direct service integrated directly with several national MNOs.
Airmob, a French operator with headquarters in Toulouse, specializes in providing landline, cellphone and 4G Internet services exclusively for companies. It has a customer base of more than 2500 organizations, among which are some of the country’s main firms, such as Air France, Renault, EDF (Électricité de France) and Ubisoft.

Currently, Airmob offers cell phone services through resale agreements with Orange, SFR and Bouygues Telecom, enabling their customers to choose which mobile network coverage they wish to operate. In 2020 Airmob decided to go further and become a Full MVNO with the aim of providing a comprehensive triple-play convergent service and launch its new 5G mobile service offering as soon as possible.

The decision to become a Full MVNO lets the company have the greatest levels of independence, autonomy and flexibility to fully guarantee the service, and especially to be much more competitive in terms of price, quality of service and ability to deploy new added value services for customers.

In a first phase, Airmob will start providing services on the Orange radio network in France with the firm intention to work with a second national MNO in the short term. This will let it offer a complete and direct national multi-operator service. This decision entails a substantial change in terms of its current multi-operator offering that will allow it to set better service conditions and have greater control over the service.

JSC Ingenium will be in charge of deploying its Full Core/BSS/OSS 2G/3G/4G technology, which is also ready to operate on 5G, and integrating all the MVNOs. In the agreement reached, Airmob has delegated to JSC all daily operational activities, such as products, routing, configurations, pricing, promotions, etc. This will assure cost-efficiency and service quality.

About Airmob
Founded in 2016, Airmob is a Telecommunications Operator specialized in business services. The company, a pioneer in fixed 4G Internet connection solutions, is known for the use of mobile technology to offer greater flexibility to its customers (installation time in D+1, without time commitment).

It was the first MVNO to offer SIM cards associated to fixed IPs. It implemented an IP-Centrex and connected it to a multi-operator mobile platform.

In 2019 it launched an unprecedented solution for landline that combines a wide range of functions with the simplicity of a smartphone application.

imowi: The First Cooperative Mobile Operator

JSC Ingenium - News: Client update - Imowi
  • The Chamber of Telecom Cooperatives (CATEL) officially presents the first Cooperative Mobile Operator that will offer services nationally under the imowi brand.
  • CATEL entrusts JSC Ingenium, with its cutting-edge technology and its experience in the deployment and operation of mobile operators, to launch its new MVNO..
In Buenos Aires on November 18, CATEL presented the first Cooperative Mobile Operator, which will be the forth Mobile Operator in the country. An entirely new concept in which nucleated cooperatives in CATEL will take part and which will make it possible to sell new convergent quadruple play bundled offers: landline, mobile phone, Internet and TV, in competitive conditions, focusing mainly on small- and medium-sized municipalities of the region, where there is currently a strong presence of these cooperatives that have been offering Telco services for many years and have a large subscriber base. The implementation of the mobile service will make it possible to reach places where they had no presence in the past, and it will be an opportunity for many people to access such an essential service for the first time, considerably reducing the digital divide in Argentina.
CATEL has, on the one hand, a license and mobile numbering granted by the regulator ENACOM, the National Body of Communications in Argentina, to offer mobile telephone services at a national level, and on the on the other hand, an agreement with Telefónica Movistar Argentina to operate on its radio network. This is a special agreement that will make it possible for them to use part of its infrastructure to offer mobile data services through its local networks.
JSC Ingenium will act as CATEL’s technological partner to deploy its infrastructure as a centralized platform of mobile operation – Full Core + BSS 2G/3G/4G – and for the launch and activity of its MVNO. Moreover, JSC Ingenium has been involved with the interconnection of the central node of portabilities and interconnections – via SIP – with the different cooperatives offering landline service at present with the aim of being able to, in a second phase, carry out call terminations through them.
With the launch of imowi in Argentina, JSC Ingenium is broadening its footprint of operative deployment in the Latam region, turning it into the leading mobile technology supplier on the continent.

The service will be operative in April for testing, with user groups that are related the organization, in order to launch to the market in June 2021. The brand name “imowi” comes from combining the distinctive values adopted by the Operator: integration, mobility and Wireless.

In this first phase, the initial group is comprised of: Colsecor – which brings together more than 250 of the country’s cooperatives – and the cooperatives of Del Viso, Monte, Pinamar, Tortuguitas and Villa Gdor. Gálvez.

About the Argentine Chamber of Telecom Cooperatives (CATEL)
CATEL is a non-profit organization created in mid-2006 on the initiative of a number of public service companies from different parts of the country that were interested in promoting the improvement and development of new services, and the creation of a technological training and update sector.

Its goals are to develop these services, to keep its partners up-to-date with technology, and to improve current services based on new technologies.

YouMobile successfully deploys its own multi-brand platform to address new business opportunities in the ethnic market

JSC Ingenium - News: Client update - YouMobile
  • YouMobile has trusted JSC Ingenium’s technology and experience to deploy its new multi-brand and multi-tenant platform, offering white label service to new low-cost super niche projects.

The Asian MNO, headquartered in Spain, is deploying its new platform of mobile services and launching its wholesale supply with the aim of covering the demand from new initiatives, through differentiated business models and offering value to very specific population sectors, with tailored offers and strongly individual attention. The new platform adds fiber services to provide YouMobile with convergent services.

The platform solution deployed by JSC Ingenium allows YouMobile to provide brands with the highest level of autonomy and independence in terms of service management and operation, a quick time to market, which is key to competing successfully in a market as dynamic as Spain, and individual service for each case. Its multi-operator capacity will make it possible to be open to new coverages, both in mobile and land-line communications, without the need for user or service migration.
By the beginning of November, YouMobile had launched its first brand to the market, YouMobile Asia, targeted at the Indian-Pakistani population living in Spain. It has its own convergent service offering – mobile and FTTH- both for contract and prepaid, making the most of the powerful network of phone recharges that YouMobile has across the nation. At present YouMobile is engaged in launching a new service for the end of this year, focused on complementing YouMobile’s current offering for the Asian market in Spain.
The company is focused on a growth strategy that involves, on the one hand, expanding its service portfolio in order to offer customers the most competitive services at the best prices, and on the other hand, making use of its experience and knowledge in the ethnic market, presenting a technical and business solution, as a platform, to companies that wish to launch their own customized mobile phone services for very specific ethnic population niches.

As part of the framework cooperation agreement, YouMobile has also entrusted JSC Ingenium with managing the services of the new platforms, receiving integral support and operations services, which will let it focus on end customer service with the highest quality standards.

At the beginning of 2020, YouMobile selected JSC Ingenium as a technological provider to renew its business and price system, with the aim of guaranteeing mobile service to its customer base, and extending its company’s offering by adding fiber service access to homes. In February, the migration of all prepaid and contract subscribers to its new convergent business system was carried out successfully, with no impact on the service. At present it has more than 200 products and price plans on offer.

About YouMobile

República Móvil keeps trusting JSC Ingenium’s technology for the launch of its new FTTH service

JSC Ingenium - News: Client update - República Móvil
  • The low-cost operator, part of Grupo Orange España, is launching its new convergent offering for Mobile Phones and Fibre.
República Móvil launched onto the market its new FTTH Fibre service in July. This move responds to the mobile operator’s strategy to strengthen its presence within the low-cost market through a convergent Mobile and Fibre offering at a low price and with the quality of Orange España’s network.
In 2016, República Móvil put its trust in JSC Ingenium’s technology, and rolled out its BSS business system together with its OCS charging system, which allows the MNO to offer real-time tariffs for all of the services they offer their subscribers, both for 3G and 4G.
JSC’s BSS convergent system allows República Móvil to add new Telco services, such as Fibre and TV, to its commercial offering of services, in a fast and secure way that is integrated with all business systems.
The high flexibility of its OCS system allows the operator’s Marketing-Sales teams to define and create new pricing plans and commercial campaigns of packaged convergent services quickly – in a matter of minutes – and totally autonomously. This capacity makes it possible for the operator to make decisions and be able to react quickly to moves by competitors without the need to hire technical staff.

It is a comprehensive network integrated with the Orange España Network, which includes among other functions: provisioning of subscribers and services, subscribers’ life cycle, invoicing cycle (provision of new tariffs, tariff changes, and incident management), real-time control of pre-payment and post-payment products, invoicing, and so on.

Its invoicing system makes it possible to include combined discounts (Mobile Phone and Fibre), and to apply the discount to the main lines of the highest traffic contract, so that subscribers benefit from promotional campaigns as much as possible.

In its launch offer, República Móvil provides the possibility of contracting the new Fibre service separately, with two speeds of symmetrical 100Mb and 500 Mb, and packaged Mobile and Fibre with 6 different pricing plans that range from €25 to €49 per month.

About República Móvil
República Móvil started to offer low-cost mobile phone services, as an MVNO, on the Orange network in Spain in 2013. It offered simple voice and data services, at the best prices and without contractual commitments. Through the Pioneros payment plan, it created a new, rule-breaking category: paying all Republica Móvil clients up to €0.60 per month for each friend and each friend’s friend, unlimited, as long as they remain with RM. In 2018, Orange bought República Móvil with the aim of strengthening its low-cost offering.
